‘Edge’ emerged from the process of ‘Pareidolia’. This involves finding shapes in random marks and adding colour or, as in this case, erasing the medium, to bring out an image suggested to the artist by the marks. The medium was graphite powder on paper, and in the initial marks, which were made by rainfall, I saw a fragmented divide between land masses. They may be meeting, or dissolving. Either way, the edge between them is permeable. Movement is possible in either direction. But what I saw is not necessarily what the viewer will see; there are other possibilities
