The Deer Path (a working title) is a collaborative project I'm very excited to be working on with poet Katrina Naomi.
The project focusses on the farm near Leedstown in west Cornwall where I grew up, and where I now live. Katrina lives in Penzance. She has been coming over to the farm every three months across the seasons for the last couple of years. We go for a walk to look and listen, and to find things, gathering information and material to work with in response to the land. We then spend some time working separately on starting points for further development. At the end of the day, we share what we’ve been doing. We don’t set out to illustrate or write about each other’s work, but often there’s an overlap. It’s about the land, and the interactions within it, human, animal and plant.
