Bruised Ground (2019)
Running time one and half minutes. To watch the video click the photo below.
Bruised Ground was shown at the Harvest Film festival, Lower Hewood farm, November 9th 2019. It was filmed in Kings Wood, Ashford in Kent, as part of the ‘Woods to Where Else’ residency (Nov 2017 to Jan 2018) commissioned by the Stour Valley Creative partnership.
This short film plays with the notion that a wood, rather than being a collection of individual trees, is actually an entity in its own right; a sentient organism with a level of awareness and agency over what is happening to it. As such, this entity can create a sense of a watching presence in people passing through.
