I am interested in the small details of the landscape, close up, and peripheral features that contribute to the overall characteristic of a particular environment. These may be functional, ephemeral or discarded objects. They may be marks on the ground made by the actions of people as they move around or work on a particular piece of ground. They may have been made by plant growth or animal movement in the natural or agricultural environment. They may even be the variations in the appearance of the soil or a surface at different times of day or after a change in the weather. There is always some degree of interrelationship between these natural and human agents, in terms of placement of objects or mark making, which interact together on the surface of the landscape to effect change over varying amounts of time.
